Integrating Alignment, Sequencing, and Timing

 

Iyengar Yoga is known around the world for its precise, detailed alignment allowing the practice to be safe, therapeutic and accessible to people of all ages and conditions. In addition to the technicality of Alignment, its uniquely comprehensive system also includes the aspects of Sequencing – the art of linking one pose to another to develop buddhi (intelligence) to have deeper awareness of technical intricacies and of the sarira (body) and manas (mind); and Timing- the duration of each asana to bring the expected changes in sarira and manas

In this 5-day course, you’ll be introduced to these three aspects of Iyengar yoga in various different asana groups and explore how the integration of the three can lead to accumulative benefits. The course will include some lecture, but significant amount of learning will be through experiential practice. Other topics included in this course are:

Daily Schedule:

In the morning you will be working with more active poses and the afternoon session will be balanced with more passive, yet still challenging poses.
